Buy a Sony Mobile Xperia Z3 for an Android device
Sony has been working hard in the past years to provide Android users with great mobile phones, tablets and accessories. During IFA 2014, Sony Mobile has announced it’s newest line of flagship Android products the Sony Xperia Z3. If you’re looking to buy an Android device, read on why you should seriously consider the Xperia Z3.
During IFA 2014, Sony Mobile announced several products on it’s Xperia Z3 line-up – the Xperia Z3, the Xperia Z3 Compact, the Xperia Z3 Dual, the Xperia Z3 Compact tablet. These are Sony’s flagship Android products expected to be released this September – just in time for the Christmas holiday shopping season.
Having an Xperia Z, personally I would love to have a couple of the Xperia Z3 products namely the Xperia Z3 Dual (a high-end dual SIM phone) and the Xperia Z3 Compact tablet (an 8-inch Android tablet). Here are some of the reasons I would choose from any of the Xperia Z3 line-up if I’m considering an Android smartphone or Android tablet.
There are a couple of main reasons I would choose an Xperia Z3 over other flagship Android devices in the market:
Waterproof and Dust-proof – When Sony Mobile started the Xperia Z line of Android devices, one of the differentiating factor has been their devices are water-resistant/waterproof and dust-proof. I have always wondered in the past why no manufacturer would offer such devices. Dust is everywhere and having an expensive mobile device protected from dust is a great start.
Waterproofing is another beast all together. For starters, practically all of us would have probably gotten into a situation wherein rain got in the way of us using our smartphones. Not to mention situations where they dropped into water-ridden areas. Well, Sony Mobile has made the Xperia Z3 line waterproof enough so that you can even take photos under water up to 1.5 meters deep for 30 minutes – how cool is that!
Battery Life – No matter how powerful or feature laden your Android smartphone is, it’s useless if that battery has been drained right in the middle of the day when you have to use it. This is one of the things I love about my Xperia Z Android phone – on an average day I can get away with not having to charge it for 2 days while on all-day heavy days it has stayed powered. With the Xperia Z3 line-up, Sony Mobile’s design has focused on providing owners with a 2-day battery life. The Xperia Z3 and the Xperia Z3 Dual smartphones have a 3100mAh battery. The Xperia Z3 Compact has a 2600mAh battery while the Xperia Z3 Compact tablet has a 4500mAh battery.
Sony Mobile’s decision to factor into the design both battery life and water/dust proofing on the Xperia Z3 line of Android devices has given potential owners the freedom to be able to use their smartphone in a bigger number of scenarios – no more looking for charging stations or worrying about the rain.
Above the basic things needed for a great smartphone, Sony Mobile has included several other features on it’s Xperia Z3 line of Android smartphones.
Sony Mobile has adopted some of their technological know-how from cameras into the Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Dual and the Xperia Z3 Compact in the form of a 20-megapixel camera that performs great in a wide variety of scenes. In addition, they’ve also incorporated video technology enabling the smartphones to record video in 2K resolution.
In the Xperia Z3 smartphones, Sony Mobile has also include front-facing stereo speakers – something that I have been waiting for widespread adoption in smartphones.
Another thing that is unique in Sony Mobile’s Xperia Z3 line is its offering of a dual SIM version of their flagship. Dual SIM phones is not something new in smartphones but this is the first time I’ve finally seen a smartphone manufacturer that has offered the same flagship level features in a dual SIM. Others have offer them but on a smartphone of lower level of power and feature. I think that this is great news for travelers that doesn’t want to compromise on features – now they can have a great Android smartphone that is at the same time a dual SIM. Athough the Xperia Z3 Dual is still to be released in September, it would be so cool if the phone will be able to have a setting for choosing which is the primary and which is the secondary SIM without having to remove those SIMs.
When it comes to the display, Sony has finally been using IPS technology on their smartphones to offer a wider viewing angle. With all the double full HD screens being released in the market, Sony Mobile has chosen to use a full HD (1920 x 1080) screen instead. Some people may think Sony Mobile should have chose a higher resolution. I think Sony Mobile have chosen the wiser decision to use only a full HD screen on the Xperia Z3. With a 400+ DPI screen density, the human eye won’t even notice anything higher in resolution. In addition a full HD screen actually enables the phone to use lesser power giving the user more juice to perform other things on the Xperia Z3.
In addition to Sony Mobile’s Xperia Z3 line of Android smartphones, Sony Mobile has also introduced the Xperia Z3 Compact Tablet – an 8-inch Android tablet with the same power offered in Sony Mobile’s Xperia Z3 Android smartphones. At 6.4mm, the tablet is so thin. It’s also water/dust proof.
Once the Xperia Z3 Android mobile devices become available in the market, we can get more feedback about the Xperia Z3 but so far, I think that Sony Mobile has done a great job on what to offer in their next generation of flagship Android mobile devices.
