More Android cell phones for the Philippines
It’s been quite a while since I last posted some of the Android mobile phones that are locally available in the Philippines. You can find my other lists of Android phones here on my site. Since then several other Android cell phones have been released in the local market. Here’s my latest list of additional Android mobile phones that are now available locally.
HTC Desire Z
HTC being the first manufacturer to produce an Android handset is also the first one to officially sell an Android mobile phone locally. Since then, there has been a lot of Android mobile phones like the HTC Magic and HTC Desire that is now available in the Philippines. All of them, until now doesn’t have a physical keyboard. The HTC Desire Z is now locally available Android mobile phone with a physical keyboard. It specifications include a 3.7-inch 800×480 display, HSPA, 800Mhz CPU, FM radio, bluetooth, GPS with A-GPS support and wifi.
One other Android mobile phone that sports a keyboard that is available in the Philippines is the Alcatel OT-980. Instead of a landscape keyboard, the OT-980 has a portrait keyboard much like the Palm Pre but instead runs Android. It’s specs include quadband GSM, HSDPA, 2.8-inch 240×320 touchscreen display, wifi, bluetooth and GPS.
Cherry Mobile Nova
Cherry Mobile is now joining the list of Android mobile phone sellers with several devices. The Cherry Mobile Nova is it’s entry level Android mobile phone. The specifications include a 320×480 touch screen display, HSDPA, wifi, bluetooth and other basic things you’d expect from an Android mobile phone. The Nova currently sells in the same price range as the Samsung Spica Android phone.
Cherry Mobile Magnum HD
The second Android mobile phone that Cherry Mobile has released in the Philippine market is the Magnum HD. The Cherry Mobile Magnum HD has a higher specification than the Nova. It has a 4.1-inch 480×800 multi-touch capable capacitive touch screen, a 1Ghz Qualcomm processor, a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, a secondary VGA camera for all you Skype lovers, Android 2.2 Froyo is already installed, bluetooth, GPS, wifi and HSDPA.
So there you have it, my lastest addition to the list of growing Android based mobile phones that are available in the Philippines. In case I missed out on something that you think deserves to be on the list, let me know and I’ll try to add them.
