New HP Mini 2140 netbook is out, no touchscreen
HP has just released it’s new HP Mini 2140 Netbook which is basically a 10.1 inch version of its HP 2133 Mini-note. Pretty standard specifications like Intel Atom, 1-2 GB of RAM, 160GB hard disk (optional 80GB SSD), Expresscard and SD slot, bluetooth, webcam, wifi 802.11 b/g/n, ethernet and 10.1 inch display (LED instead of LCD).
But still no touchscreen. Common HP, you can do better than that. 🙂 Aside from Windows Vista, you can have OpenSuse installed with your order. I wish they’d put those trackpad buttons back to it’s normal place. The HP Mini’s are pretty sleek though, I love the way HP constructs their notebooks and netbooks.

Does this new baby equipped with WindowsXP? When will this be available in the market? I am planning to invest on this little machine and I think I will enjoy surfing. I am looking forward to have this little baby when I am on the move. However, I have a second choice which is Dell mini 12.
gerry,
Any idea where to get these locally?
@hootie2t, not yet available locally. Only the HP Mini 1001 and the older HP Mini 2133 is available in the Philippines right now.
Hi, Gerry,
I’m going to be in Manila soon, and I’m in interested in getting an HP Mini while my bf is interested in a notebook (14 or 15″). Do you know if and when the HP 2140 will be released in the Philippines?
May I ask you where the best place is in Manila to buy an HP? Is there a big outlet for HPs? We’d like to see a range of HPs.
Thanks for your help!
Hi Micaela, No word on when the HP 2140 but it’s usually several months after a US announcement.
No big HP outlet here but depending on where you’re staying, you can always find a computer shop nearby that sells HP notebooks.
