Domain .mp gets repurposed and offers social network aggregation
I’ve recently gotten a invite to the BETA chi.mp service. Chi.mp is a service that is undergoing beta right now. By availing of the service, you can choose your own free .mp domain. The chi.mp service enables the domain owner to aggregate his/her activity from different social networking sites. It also allows you to collect your social contacts and place them in a single place which is your chi.mp account.
A good thing about the chi.mp service is that it also provides an open id service. With the use of open id under chi.mp you can login to different web services like Dopplr, Zooomr and Ma.gnolia by using your .mp domain credential.
Another good feature that chi.mp has is that it also has blogging function. A unique feature about the blogging function is that you can choose which persona or area you want to publish the blog post. I wish twitter would have something like it. I think it would be very useful since you don’t have to maintain several accounts to communicate with your social buddies / family / friends … just maintain one account and create several “communication streams”.
I still haven’t finish setting up my chi.mp site but it looks promising. You can visit it at http://tips.mp
